Finance Committee approves allocation of NIS 693 million towards protecting communities from rocket attacks

MK Moshe Gafni

The Finance Committee, chaired by MK Moshe Gafni (Degel Hatorah), approved on Monday the allocation of NIS 693 million towards financing added protection for Israeli communities, which is under the responsibility of the IDF Home Front Command. Specifically, the funds are geared towards the maintenance of sirens and other emergency warning systems, financing the multi-year plan for fortifying northern communities, fortifying institutions of education, health and welfare, renovating public shelters and financing fortification projects in Judea and Samaria.

Funds will also be allocated to the National Emergency Authority’s cellular project, which allows communication between first responding forces in times of emergency. The budget will also be used to purchase designated equipment for special forces, as part of the effort to prepare the home front for unconventional threats.
