After the German Bundestag on Friday passed a resolution designating the anti-Israel Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions movement as antisemitic, Speaker of the Knesset MK Yuli-Yoel Edelstein (Likud) called on other parliaments to adopt similar resolutions.
 
“Thank you Bundestag for the courageous and important decision!” Speaker Edelstein wrote on his Twitter account. “BDS is a dangerous, antisemitic movement. You are the first, but many others will follow in your footsteps. Thank you, Bundestag President my friend Wolfgang Schäuble, for your efforts.”
 
The resolution, titled “Resisting the BDS movement decisively – fighting antisemitism,” stated that “The argumentation patterns and methods used by the BDS movement are antisemitic.” It called on governmental bodies not to finance or support any organizations that support BDS or question Israel’s right to exist.
